Mary Wilson

Obituary of Mary Lou Wilson

Beloved wife of the late Henry "Hank" Arthur  Wilson, Mary Lou Wilson was called home on Monday June 1, 2020.  Her legacy lives on thru her two son's Scott and his wife Marcia and Craig and his wife Megan. Mary also leaves behind five grandchildren; Kaiden, Brielle, Julian, Genevieve and Giovanni. She is survived by her sister Edna and her brother Raymond.  She also leaves behind many more relatives and friends too numerous to mention, but they all love her and will miss her. Especially Elaine Osborne who will sincerely miss the loss of their 46 year friendship, and Victor and Yvette Osborne who benefited from this relationship and were consequently loved and cherished as her own children.

She previously lived in Brentwood, Long Island, New York, where she was a substitute teacher for about 20 years. She helped countless children and friends of both Scott and Craig to pass school grades.  Her patience and willingness to be so selfless and sacrifice her time in this endeavor helped many to become
successful adults.

Mary moved to Tucson in 1998 and while living there worked for American Airlines before retiring in 2015.  Here she made life-long friends that in
their time together, supported and cared for each other including: John 'Flano" Flanagan, Bit Devine, Robyn Johannessen, and the late Glenn Manis.

She loved to travel and has seen places such as: Hungary, Barbados, Ireland, Hawaii and even went on a Caribbean Cruise just to name a few.  She was planning to go to Portugual to see where her daughter-in-laws family is from,
but unfortunately will not be able to make that trip.

She loved to go to the casino and was not your avarage gambler
because she would inevitably come home with money. Her other hobbies included: reading, cross stitch, puzzles, and she absolutely loved to play sudoko for hours on end. She was inquisitive and mechanically able, fixing and finding things to make life easier or just continuing to be the
independent person she's always was.

Mary Wilson was an inspiration to many.  As a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, grandmother, and friend, she was the one to call on for solid advice, a compassionate ear, and a kick in the pants if one was needed. Her sense of humor and fun will be missed, as will her quick smile, wit, and sauvy spark.  We are all lucky to have known such a wonderful person and are better people for knowing her.

She will be joining her husband at Calverton Cemetery on Long Island, NY.
