Obituary of Rosemary Wilkes

Wanda “Rosemary” (Goldthorpe) Wilkes passed away peacefully in her home on April 1st.  Rosemary was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 10, 1921 and moved to Tucson in 1939 where she met and later married her first husband Albert “Winston” Goldthorpe an Army Veteran radio operator who reenlisted to serve in World War II.  Rosemary and Winston had five children, Geraldine “Jerrie” Brown (Lloyd-deceased), James Goldthorpe-deceased, John R. Goldthorpe (Hortensia), Michael D Goldthorpe-deceased, Joyce Lorenze (Don) and were blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  Rosemary later married Father Robert George Wilkes.  In 1981 Rosemary and Father Wilkes founded and built St. Jude’s Anglican Church where Father Wilkes was ordained Bishop before his passing.  Rosemary was a talented artist woodworker, portrait painter, seamstress, and more. There wasn’t anything Rosemary couldn't create.  During her later years Rosemary was lovingly cared for by her granddaughter Barbara Brown-Marmion (Chuck) and Angel caregivers Christina, Maricela, Karina, Martha, Anna Lucia, and Maritza.  May Rosemary rest in peace, she is dearly missed. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 Am on Friday May 1, 2020 at St. Jude’s Anglican Church, 8245 E. Seneca Street Tucson, Arizona.
