Obituary of Charles Howard Ruggles

Charles Howard Ruggles, Sr. 

 

Charlie Ruggles was born on March 19, 1925 to Glenn and Hazel Ruggles, of Flint, Michigan. He was their fourth child.

He joined the army in 1944 as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne, 511th Parachute Infantry Division.

After the war, he worked for many years as a bus driver for Indian Trails, driving over two million accident-free miles.

In 1967, he married his true love, Dorothy. Together, they experienced the joys and struggles of life. They raised ten children, owned a business, and travelled.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ruggles, his children: Richard Robinson of Tucson, Darlene Levitski (Mike) of Tucson, John Ruggles of Florida, Lynn Ruggles of Florida, Deborah Ruggles of Tucson, Dianne Rodgers of Michigan, Rose Ruggles of Tucson, and A'me Rankin (Sean) of California, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and brothers, his daughter Dona Robinson, and son Charles Ruggles, Jr
