Obituary of Tom C. Brown

Tom Caskie Brown, born 05/21/1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma died peacefully on 09/15/2019 surrounded by family at Casa de la Luz Hospice at the Hacienda. He was 92 years old at his passing. At a very young age Tom's family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he later met the love of his life, Agnes Sipes. Tom and Agnes were married in 1951 and permanently moved to Tucson in 1956. They both loved Tucson and came to settle in the West University Neighborhood where they raised their two sons Larry Walter and Tom Leland. Tom served three years, 1946 to 1949, in the Army Air Corps which became the United States Air Force in 1947. Tom continued his service to our country in the Arizona Air National Guard. He achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and was Aircraft Field Maintenance Superintendent when he retired in 1985 with over thirty-four years of service. Tom was constantly striving to improve himself, taking many work related training courses as well as many self improvement classes all to do the very best in his job and for his family. Everyone loved Tom Brown. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, whether it was neighbors needing help with coolers, automotive issues or plumbing problems, he was the one to call. In addition to Tom's devotion to family and career, he also enjoyed his hobbies of gun smithing, knife making, antique clock repair, skeet shooting, fishing and hunting. Another of his lifelong dreams was to become a pilot, so he earned his private pilots license in retirement. Tom lost his beloved Agnes in 2008 and is predeceased by brothers: Travis, Harvey, Weldon and sister Elsie Lindsey. He is survived by one brother Jim (Phyllis), two sons, Larry Walter (Kathy), Tom Leland (Patricia), grandsons, Cass (Tamara), Rob (Lisa), four great-grandchildren, Owen, Clayton, Madison and Allie. Also surviving Tom is brother-in-law Alton Sipes, nieces Donna Honaker and Wendy Heflin.
