Obituary of Carmen V. DuVall
DUVALL, Carmen V.
92, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 28, 2019. She was born in Tucson, AZ on November 10, 1926 as the first child of Francisco and Refugio (Ruth) Burruel Valles.
Carmen was first and foremost a loving, caring and giving Mother and Grandmother. Although smaller in stature than most, she carried a strong, influential voice that broadcasted great advice and wisdom. She was not one to seek the limelight herself but rather to be the facilitator and pillar of strength to the people surrounding her. She was an inspiration to all that knew her with strong spirit, unflappable values and tireless work ethic.
Carmen spent the majority of her working career with the Tucson Medical Center and University of Arizona Hospital as a truly dedicated employee who worked around the clock. Upon her retirement, she cared for others and spent many hours with the people she loved. She also made time to visit the local casinos, watch her favorite western television shows, cheer for University of Arizona sports teams and enjoy her favorite foods.
Her daughter Sarah, sisters Lily, Clara and brother Francisco predeceased Carmen. Carmen is survived by her daughters Jenny (Eddy), Carmen, Rachel (John), son James (Aneta) and brothers David and Carlos. Carmen had 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grand child that she adored, cherished and doted over. Her presence will be deeply missed by all.
