Obituary of Ralph Wayne Massey

Ralph Wayne Massey, 89, passed away at his home on July 18, 2019.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Louise Ann Fulcher; 2 daughters, Kathy Brown (Charlie), Laura Miller (Richard) granddaughter Avery Miller, and grandson Austin Miller, brothers Steve Massey (Janice) and Brad Massey.  R. Wayne grew up outside Williams AZ on a Ranch in Pittman Valley.  He graduated from Williams High School in 1947, attended the University of Arizona from 1948-1951 where he studied Engineering.  R. Wayne was commissioned into the United Stated Air Force in 1952, traveled the world, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the 162nd Air National Guard in 1976.   He retired from Hughes Aircraft Company as an Electrical/Mechanical  Engineer in 1987.    He served on the Pima County Merit System Commission and Law Enforcement Merit System Council from 1993 -1998.  R. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and especially loved boating at Lake Powell.  He owned a small construction company (running backhoe) and was quite the handy man and mechanic.  He loved to watch football and basketball.  He served as Secretary in 2 Bishoprics at the University of Arizona LDS Institute of Religion and as Camp Caretaker for the LDS Camp on Mt. Lemmon.
