Robert Griffus

Obituary of Robert M. Griffus

Robert Melvin Griffus “Griff” passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019. He was born April 3, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan to Ivan Dougal Griffus and Geneva Olive Hunt. Griff enlisted in the Army out of Catalina High School and honorably served our country in Vietnam. Upon his return, he began a 44-year career with Haskell (now Mission) Linen.

Griff always loved home improvement projects (big or small) and transformed many houses into homes for his loved ones. After retirement, he caught the off-roading bug and earned the nickname “Danger Bob” on the trails.

In 1973, he married Candice “Candy” Ann Cronin. He is survived by wife, Candy; his daughter, Heather; his son-in-law, Alan; his grandchildren Alexander, Zachary and Ashley; his daughter, Holly Marie; his daughter, Amy; his son-in-law, Richard; his grandchildren Noah and Cooper; and his daughter by a first marriage Kori; and his grandchildren Jakob, John and Eleanor. He is also is survived by sisters, Nancy and Susan; his brother, Keith; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Geneva; his brother, Lawrence and his sister, Helen.

In lieu of flowers, given his love of off-roading, and his compassion for fellow vets, the family requests donations to the following:
