Obituary of Nadine Bingham Johnson
Nadine Bingham Johnson 90, born May 27, 1929, left this earthly life to join her husband, parents and a daughter (Leola) and several extended family members on Sunday, June 30, 2019. She is survived by 5 of her six children. Deborah (Keith) Peterson, son-in-law Larry Watson, Rena Sabey, Antoinette (Howard) Dee, Joseph (Michelle) Johnson and John (Connie) Johnson. She has 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was born and raised in Safford, AZ. Married her high school sweetheart, Leo C. Johnson (March 5, 1948). Leo proceeded her in death on August 28, 2012. She was very proud of the fact that she got to be a stay-at-home Mom and loved raising her children in Tucson. After her kids were all grown, she enjoyed catering for a few years until she and Leo were called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They went on to serve 2 more missions and though each one was very different, they loved them all. In her own words:
"I like planning a wedding or a reception. I like preparing a full course meal or refreshments for 250-300 people. I like upholstering a couch or a chair. I liked making Rena's basic wedding dress. I like on Valentines Day making Leo a new red tie. I like working in the yard and garden. I like fulfilling my callings in various church and civic organizations. I like watching and learning from Leo as he works on different cars. I like exercising in the pool. I like balancing my checkbook each month."
In other words, Nadine loved serving others, she would go out of her way to help and bless the lives of people around her. Yes, she was obsessive about her balanced checkbook!!! Nadine was loved by everyone who knew her. In her final days at the assisted living facility or at the hospital. Everyone who came into her room had their day brightened because of her loving, warm, kind, sweet spirit. One nurse told Nadine that she was having a bad day until she came into Nadine's room to attend to her. Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2019 at 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at BRING'S FUNERAL HOME, 6910 E. Broadway. Services will be Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 9555 E. Snyder Road. Burial immediately following at the Binghampton Cemetery 4001 N. Alvernon Way.
