Melanie and Revlon, You're so blessed to have had the wonderful parents you did. I first met Mary Ruth shortly after I became a Deacon at Northminster and we became friends after my first visit with her. A delightful and ever optimistic woman! I loved to visit with her and listen to her stories. I often had coffee while she had her lunch and she always made sure she introduced me to everyone. One Christmas I'd visited and "Santa Claus" dropped in to deliver a gift to everyone -- Mary Ruth was so pleased with her gift and remarked that the following Christmas she would be home with Don - that would be her gift to him. And so, although I miss her, and I know the both of you do too even more so - I'm happy she and Don will be together this Christmas!! Love, Kimberly

Some of my earliest childhood memories of Aunt Mary Ruth are at my Grandmother's farmhouse. She always found some project for us to work on. Once we built a cardboard church and covered it with homemade stucco (paste). When Mary Ruth came to visit we always went to grandmother's. I remember my sisters and I playing with Melanie as a child. I remember when MR proudly brought Devin to meet his grandmother as an infant, and helping feed him some of his first solid food ( green beans,he didn't like!). Then, like happens so much thes days, MR and her family moved to Tuscon and my father and our family moved to Florida and we only saw each other at those terrible times when there was a death in the family and communication limited to cards. However there will always be the wonderful memories of childhood.

My deepest sympathies to Melanie and your whole family. Mary Ruth was such a great inspiration to me. I always enjoyed and looked forward to seeing and visiting with her at her dental visits. Even towards the end of her journey, I always could see the life in her eyes and felt the love she portrayed. I will cherish the children's book she gave me to read with my kids. She will never be forgotten. Michael Wexler
