Obituary of Kathy Gramme

Kathleen “Kathy” L. Gramme, age 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2019, at Aguilera Home assisted living in Tucson, Arizona.
Left to honor and remember Kathy’s love are Russ, loving and devoted husband of 52 years; Michelle (Brian) Nemetz, affectionate daughter; and Trevor Nemetz, cherished grandson. She is preceded in death by her baby angels, Russell and Robert; parents, Stephen and Anna Bores; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Bernie Bores.
Kathy was born on July 19, 1940, in Aurora, Illinois. After marrying Russ on June 4, 1966, they relocated to Tucson in 1969 seeking a warmer, drier climate for her health. She was a skilled stenographer and worked as a receptionist in Aurora and at the University of Arizona College of Music in Tucson. She was a fun-loving homemaker, and later returned to the workforce as a gifted Census Taker for the United States Census Bureau. Her ability to talk with everyone, friends and strangers alike, lead to her success.
During Kathy’s younger years, she had fiery red hair with a personality to match. She is fondly remembered for her beautiful smile, twinkle in her eye, sense of humor, easy-going and pleasant personality, and ability to listen with empathy and compassion. She was passionate about children, birds, and music and enjoyed singing in choir and playing piano. Kathy was a dedicated wife and mother, spending four months on bed rest to ensure her daughter was carried to term after losing both boys shortly after birth.
Services to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. in Tucson. Please join her family and friends for a Rosary at 9:30am, Mass at 10:00am, interment at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery to follow, then a luncheon hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council 8813 at St. Joseph’s Healy Hall.
Kathy’s family is grateful for the loving and attentive care she received from Aguilera Home and Hospice Family Care.
