Aunt Mary and all the Flahie's, Uncle Tom was a great guy. We spent New Years together in 1987 when Eileen and I were out for Christmas, and went To Laughlin NV for New Years. We had blast, that was the other time it snowed in Tucson and it was fitting when we visited the other day that weather was cold again. I remember Uncle Tom as the guy who flew in to Toledo picked up new car, stayed one night then drove back home, as a kid I could not figure out why. I have gotten older and understand a bit better why, not because he hated cold or mosquitos which was his excuse, but he wanted to get back home. He was always very hospitable to anyone from Toledo who visited, Tom Tansey still talks about time he stopped by when he was in the service and Uncle Tom took him all over Tucson. You will be missed but not forgotten,

I am so sorry to hear about Tom's passing. Tom was a man of deep faith--a real testimony to me as well as to the congregation of St. Joseph's Church. For the past ten or so years, while I also attended Mass at St. Joseph's, he consistently attended the 7 a,m. Mass, even when he wasn't t feeling well. He had such a deep devotion to Our Lord. Also, I loved seeing the attentiveness he showed his cherished wife of 62 years. Their love for each other was very special to witness. My attending the 7a.m. Mass is not the same without Tom's presence. He will definitely be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Julie Barber

It will always seem too soon to lose a loved one to death. I hope that the fond memories and cherished times you spent with Tom bring you comfort. God's written word assures us "that there is going to be a resurrection" (Acts 24:15). This means that Tom will be given a fresh new start with the prospect of living forever. May you find comfort in knowing that you have an opportunity to see him again, and at that time "no resident will say: 'I am sick'" (Isaiah 33:24). Please accept my deepest sympathy and a warm invitation for you to find more comfort at jw.org
