Obituary of Bibiane L. Ouimet

Bibiane “Bi” St. Cyr Ouimet died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Tucson, Arizona when her beloved Mo reached out his hands to guide her home on December 28, 2018. She was born to the late Roger St. Cyr and Yvette Sauve on December 2, 1938 in Alexandria, Ontario, Canada. Bi is predeceased by her late husband of 59 years, Maurice Ouimet.

Survivors include her three children, Suzanne LaPointe (Adrian) of Tucson, Arizona and Michelle Ouimet (Glenn Hilley) of Orlando, Florida and Marc Ouimet (Colleen) of Alexandria, Minnesota; grandson, Forrest Dupree (fiancé Tylor) of Menomonie, Wisconsin and the newest little pumpkin great granddaughter Everly Dupree, also of Menomonie; her brother Marc Thauvette (Pam) of Dalton, Ohio; brother-in-law Edward Ouimet of Massena, New York; sister-in-law Arlene Ouimet of Tucson, Arizona; her treasured cat Izzy and many nieces and nephews.

She took great interest and pride in her numerous jobs over the years especially in service as a medical secretary, and we chided her with the nickname Dr. Bi, Medicine Woman. If you ask anyone who knew Bi what they will remember most, it will be her gift for hosting and entertaining with an enviable ease and her tremendous style in dress and décor. Even while camping, a tablecloth for the picnic table and a container of fresh flowers were a must.

Bi had a wonderful sense of humor, which was fortunate for us all, as more often than not she was the butt of the joke. But in the end, she got the last laugh because one thing is for certain, she left a whole lot of stuff to her daughters and son who have no idea what to do with any of it!

In her rich life, Bi gave so much to so many and asked for so little in return. Even on her final day, she was packing Christmas treats for friends and family near and far. We remember and thank her for always being there for us, for teaching us, listening to us, helping and forgiving us, and always paving the way for us; she was the glue that bound us. Together, and in her honor, we will work hard to maintain the standard she set. Farewell Bi; you left us in a dignified and peaceful manner, the same way you lived and you were quite simply magnificent.

Her life will be celebrated at Saint Pius X Catholic Church at 10:00 am on January 16, 2019 in Tucson followed by a luncheon and there will be a graveside service in the spring in Massena, New York. Bi loved flowers; however, if it is your preference to make a donation, please send what you can to St. Jude’s Hospital in her memory. Finally, the family asks that you honor Bi by calling your Mom for a nice long visit.
