Obituary of Lorena M. Acedo

We are with great sadness that the family of Lorena M. Acedo announces her passing on Monday, October 08, 2018 at the age of 74 years. The Acedo family has lost an amazing woman and rock of the family. She is proceeded in death by her grandson "Buddy." She is loved, missed and survived by her husband and best friend of 56 years Mike O. Acedo, children Larry (Sandra), Marie (Raul), Olga (Jaime), Mike Jr. (Chemy). Nana Lorena will be forever adored and missed by her eleven grandchildren Rosalina, Larry Jr., Buddy, Esteban, Stephanie, Carlos, Freddie Jr., Yvette, Arianna, Marina, and Julianna; seven great-grandchildren Anthony, Neveah, Daijon, Daniel, Anya, Robert, and Liam. Lastly survived by Joseph (Evita) Mares, Sgt. Major Edmund (Helga) Mares, Hector Mares, Maricella (Manuel) Mares, Maria (Greg) Ahumada as well as several nieces, nephews, family, neighbors and friends.

Lorena was a loving, courageous and strong woman who dedicated her life to her husband and family. We will miss all of the beautiful, loving, energetic fire-cracker of a woman we all knew her to be. From her famous cooking skills in the kitchen, her love for all holidays and parties with her family to her numerous quick fixes she made out of duct tape, and her magical green thumb she had in her garden, she will be greatly missed.

A visitation is scheduled for Monday, October 15, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with Rosary to begin at 6:00 PM at Bring's Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Ambrose Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd., Tucson, AZ. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
