Obituary of Sandra A. Ranic

Sandra Ann Ranic, 78, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away while surrounded by loved ones on
October 3, 2018. Born in Olean, New York, she is preceded in death by her parents Frederick
and Isabel Gabler of Olean, New York, her brother Frederick A. Gabler of Olean, New York, her
first husband William E. McCann of Lackawanna, New York, and her grandson Kevin Nickle.
Sandra graduated from Olean High School and continued on to receive her degree in nursing
from Mt. Mercy School of Nursing. She spent the earlier part of her nursing career caring for
newborns at Mercy Hospital in South Buffalo and eventually chose to stay home with her seven
children. Sandra truly enjoyed helping others and put everybody else’s needs in front of her
own. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She and her husband, Raymond R
Ranic of Hamburg, New York, eventually semi-retired in Tucson, Arizona in 1989 where she
then worked part time as a nurse with the American Red Cross.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Raymond R Ranic, her seven children, William (Beth)
McCann of Hamburg, New York, Christopher (Janay) McCann of Kenmore, New York, Mary
Beth (Rob) Drawbaugh of Tucson, Arizona, John Ranic (Roisin) of Tucson, Arizona, Mark
(Dawn) Ranic of Hamburg, New York, Kimberly (John) Nickle of Sterling, Virginia, and Traci
Ranic (Larry) of Prescott, Arizona. Sandra will also be fondly remembered by her nineteen
grandchildren, Jason, Dylan, Tyler, Braden, Andrew, Jack, Sandra, Ryan, Magdalena, Colby,
Ron, Patrick, Joshua, Kyla, Callie, Gavin, Michael, Mason, Kalina, and her two great
grandchildren, Connor and TJ.
There are no scheduled services at this time. Sandra’s final resting place will be at Holy Cross
Cemetery in Lackawanna, New York at a later date.
