Obituary of Robert Volstead
Robert Volstead. Born January 11, 1929 in Bonesteel, South Dakota, passed away August 3, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona. Superman has finally taken off his cape. He was the youngest of 8 children and the last of his generation. Robert was a U.S Marine from 1946 - 1947 and was always a Marine in his heart from then on. He taught junior high shop class at Vail and Naylor from 1959 - 1969. Robert spent many years as Vice President of construction for Estes Brothers, U.S Homes and established Pulte in Tucson before retiring at the age of 79. Robert was 32nd degree Mason, spent over 50 years as a Shriner, a member of the Order of Quetzalcoatl and was a high pontiff of the Order of Knights, Eagles and Tigers. He enjoyed playing golf with friends. Robert and his wife Pat were married for 61 years. His son Daniel said he never heard either of them raise their voice to one another. He enjoyed the company of many close friends and was highly respected by his peers. Mr. Volsteadt is survived by his son Daniel and two granddaughters, Hillary and Alihi.
