Obituary of Richard Chadderdon
Richard “Dick” Chadderdon, 95, passed away peacefully, on June 15, 2018, surrounded by family. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, sister and 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dick was a member of the Greatest Generation, serving overseas during World War II in the Army’s 1273rd Engineer Combat Battalion.
Having studied at several Universities during his career in Aerospace Engineering, Dick retired as a Northrop manager in 1988, after which he founded a consulting business teaching seminars and giving in-house workshops on the “Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing” of Engineering Drawings and Related Documentation per ASME Y14.5M-1982/1994/1996 for the next 20 years. He was an active Committee Member and Chairman of the Y14 Main Committee, and a US Delegate on ISO/TC 10.
He enjoyed playing tennis, golf and softball. His love of playing cards, especially Tournament Bridge and Blackjack, took him to Casinos around the world. He was a loyal UofA Wildcat fan, and loved to travel with his wife, taking tours and cruises all over the world.
Remembrances in Dick’s name may be given to the American Heart Association.
