Obituary of Leonard Charles Balon, Jr.

Specialist Leonard Charles Balon, Jr., 74, of Sahuarita, Arizona died June 05, 2017, in Sahuarita.

Born May 05, 1943, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Leonard C Balon, of Iowa and Genevieve R (Zahina-Balon) Buhk, of Iowa, he served in the Army 3rd Msl Bn (NH) 517th Arty and spent just over a year of his foreign service in Korea. 

He is survived by his son, John (Mariya) Balon of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Lynn Balon, of Sahuarita, AZ; his step children, Dale Kidd of Laramie, WY, Karen Kidd, of Jefferson City, MO, Betheny (Kidd) Shaw, of Austin, TX; his brother, Stanley (Jackie) of Dekalb, IL; his sisters: Joyce (John) Broughton, of Poynette, WI, Jean (Duane) Bray, of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Anne DeRaedt, of Mesa, AZ; and his 11 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene (Finnestad) Balon, of Illinois; father, Leonard C Balon; mother, Genevieve R (Zahina-Balon) Buhk; and brother, Daniel J Balon, of Dekalb, IL.

Graveside service and burial will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, April 19, 2018 at All Faiths Cemetery, Tucson.  The service will be officiated by Father Jerald Finnestad, of Lisbon, ND.
