Obituary of Julia Alice Lohman

Wednesday, April 4, 2018, Julia (Judy) Alice Rider Lohman left this Earth to join her husband Paul in Heaven. Julia was preceeded in death by her husband, Paul O. Lohman, Sr., brother Ernest Vinton Rider and sister Naomi Dean Rider Henry. Her surving siblings Eugene Rider and Juanita Rider Bundrick miss her, as well.

Judy Lohman had a very rewarding 89 years. Born in Salina, Kansas, she met Paul at a dance. Their plans to elope were foiled when their car reached the town’s border and quit three different times. Paul realized he had promised the Lutheran pastor he would only get married in his church and Judy helped him keep that promise. Judy was a wonderful Air Force wife, raising their four children and preparing their homes in locations from Louisiana to South Dakota, from Utah to England. She raised her children with ethics and standards while also imbuing them with a contagious sense of humor. Judy had numerous careers but surely will be remembered for her culinary skills. She not only was a master chef but an awesome baker and cake decorator, who was even hired by a respected chain to create her baked confections for public consumption. Her advice was constantly sought, appreciated, and always spot on.

She undoubtedly was sorry to leave behind her four children-- Daria L. Lohman, Pamela J. Lohman, Arthur G. Lohman, Sr. (Arlene Lapidus) and Candace L. Heezen (Ron)—and her grandchildren Katherine Lohman, Sarah Lohman, Richard Clarkson (Darlene), James Kevin Clarkson, Artie Lohman, Tim Lohman, and Jennifer Heezen Adams (Brandon). She knew they would be together and would comfort each other and her 11 great grandchildren.

Most importantly, Judy Lohman leaves behind a strong legacy of love.

Memorial contributions may be given to Wounded Warrior Project or HOPE Animal Shelter.
