Obituary of Kathy Blicharz

BLICHARZ, Kathy, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 2, 2018 surrounded by her family. 

She married her high school sweetheart, Mike and they showed us all what unconditional love is during their 49 years of marriage.  Born on July 20, 1946 to Walter and Jean Perrin, she was raised in Lodi, California on her family’s grape ranch.  After moving to Tucson in 1973, she spent 23 years teaching computer science at Pima Community College.  She loved animals and was a long-time supporter of Pima County 4-H.  Kathy was known for her infectious smile, quick wit, and caring nature to everyone she made eye contact with, especially babies.  She found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, Zachary, Sydney, Jenna, Morgan, Jacob, Griffin, Jillian, and Paige as well as countless others who called her Grandma.  She is survived by her daughters, Christine Staten (Neil) and Julie Soulvie (Jeff) and her husband and grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Timothy. 

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, 9am at St. Pius X Catholic Church with a Rosary Vigil at 7pm the night before at Salpointe Catholic High School Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, hug your family and plan a fun day with them in Kathy’s honor.
