Obituary of Howard J. Lipsett

Howard Joseph Lipsett, born December 21, 1927, joined our Father in Heaven on January 14th, 2018. Howard was the loving husband of Jean Lilian Lipsett for over 62 years and father of four loving daughters; Patricia Ann Lipsett, Diane Horn, Donna Kelley, and Linda Osmer. Howard was preceded in death by his wife Jean, daughters Patricia and Diane, parents Howard & Mary Lipsett, and sisters Mary and Francis. Howard is survived by daughters Donna Kelley and Linda Osmer, as well as Linda's husband Bill Osmer. Howard has 5 grandsons; Jason Kelley and his wife Misty, Brandon Osmer and his wife Kinlee, Clay Osmer, TJ Horn, and Christopher Horn. Howard also has 4 great grandchildren; Lexie, Roy, Kenzie and Kindle, as well as several nieces and nephews. Howard proudly served his country for 23 years as a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army, including 3 tours in the Korean War. During his years of service, Howard met and fell in love with his wife Jean and they were married in Yokohoma, Japan in 1953. Howard was a man of integrity and passionate about helping others in any way he was able. He and Jean were strong advocates for the Toys for Tots charity, which aims to provide toys for underprivileged children around the country. They worked for over 20 years with this program to raise money and purchased thousands of gifts throughout that time to donate to Tucson families. Howard always put others before himself and whether he was doing well, bad, or somewhere in between, if you asked him how he was doing, the answer was always, "Fat n' Sassy." He was the type of man to ask you questions and learn about your life, rather than bring the attention to himself. One of Howard's favorite hobbies was to sing Karaoke with his friends and family. From Christmas to classic country western songs, he thoroughly enjoyed singing and helping to put a smile on others' faces. Although our hearts are broken at the loss of this amazing father, husband, grandfather, and uncle, we are comforted in knowing Howard can breathe easy now and sing without pause. We love you Howard and we are blessed to have had you in our lives.
