Obituary of Constance Elma Pettengill

PETTENGILL, Constance Elma "Connie"

1937 - 2018

Constance E. "Connie" Pettengill passed away peacefully in her home on January 24, 2018 when she went to see her savior.

Connie was born on August 9, 1937 in Springdale, Pennsylvania. She is the fifth of eight children. Her family moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1945. She spent her childhood days in Tucson.

In 1962, she married Frank Lewis Pettengill. They raised four children, Debbie, Don, Luanne and Christel. As an Air Force family they had the opportunity to live in a variety of locations, including Waco, Texas; Roswell, New Mexico; and Plattsburgh, New York. They moved back to Tucson in 1969 and have called Tucson their home for the duration.

Connie excelled at being a stay at home mom. It was what she did well and she derived much satisfaction with taking care of her family. She was also involved with the lives of her extended family's children.

Connie was creative. She enjoyed pencil sketching, acrylics painting, sewing and decorating her home. Connie was an avid gardener.

Connie was also involved with many outside activities.

She served on the school board of Palo Verde Christian School.

She was active volunteer at Family Attic, which supports the Christian Family Care Agency, a non-profit organization. She donated many hours at the store, sorting donated items.

She enjoyed collecting and re-purposing items. Many items were then donated to those in need. One common recipient was a small church located in Mexico, which distributed donated items received from the states.

Connie is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Frank Lewis Pettengill.

Connie is survived by all four of her children, Debra Lynn Wright (husband Clifford Wright), Donald Gene Pettengill (wife Diane Pettengill), Luanne Marie Pettengill and Christel Dawn Pettengill.

Connie is survived by her four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Andy, Alexandra, Zeke, and her great-grand child Amelia.

Connie is survived by two of seven of her siblings, Byron and Ricky.

Siblings, Eugene, Ronnie, Wally, Judy, and David predeceased her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018, 9:00 a.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. 6910 East Broadway Blvd. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery
