Obituary of Col. Joseph Holck, USAF

Col. Joseph Holck Born in Honolulu, HI on March 28, 1927 and passed on November 6, 2011 in Tucson, AZ. Preceded in death by his son Emmet Holck, he is survived by his brother Fred Holck, Hawaii; sister Yolanda Silva, Hawaii; wife Amy K. Holck, Tucson; three sons, Barry Holck and Vinson Holck, Tucson, AZ and Aaron Holck, Mesa, AZ; and one daughter Meleana Tomooka, Sierra Vista, AZ; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Joseph, a retired Colonel of the US Army, co-founder of America’s first martial art system, Kajukenbo, avid supporter of the Ott YMCA, former youth summer camp and martial arts director, dedicated his life to the growth and development of our youth through these associations in Hawaii and Arizona. He is recognized as the Great Grandmaster of the Martial Arts and a pioneer of American Jujitsu of Soutthern Arizona. Memorial Service 11:30 a.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Joe passed away quietly with his family by his side.
